- Description
- We have often heard teachers say that there is an inherent contradiction between enactment in live drama classrooms and interaction with the screen-based virtual spaces of digital media. In 2002, John Carroll reported that drama teachers' widespread ambivalence towards technology manifested itself in this binary view and possibly reflected a wider 'lingering tension' in the educational system (p. 130). In other places, we (Carroll et al. 2006; Anderson et al. 2009) have urged educators to move beyond these oppositional positions to explore drama as a way to activate learning with technology.
